Dr. Pascal Bortz, a distinguished surgeon at Olde Del Mar Surgical, has been honored as a Surgeon of Excellence by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). This prestigious recognition reflects Dr. Bortz’s exceptional skills and commitment to patient care in laparoscopic, robotic, and bariatric surgery.

Dr. Bortz’s journey began with a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, San Diego, followed by medical training at Saba University. He completed his residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and UC Riverside Health Systems. Further honing his expertise, he undertook a fellowship in Minimally Invasive, Bariatric, and Robotic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Bortz volunteered in the intensive care unit, exemplifying his dedication to healthcare. He has presented research at national conferences, including the American College of Surgeons and SAGES.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bortz enjoys tennis, bowling, scuba diving, and cooking. He resides in University City with his wife and two children. His philosophy, “What inspires me is that every patient is unique,” underscores his patient-centric approach.
