Hibiscus Lemonade Refresher

5-7 servings (12 fl oz/ serving)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • Sugar Free Lemonade (1-2 packet Crystal Light or 1 cup Sugar Free Minute Maid Lemonade)
  • Splenda, Stevia, or Monkfruit to taste

Directions

  • Place the hibiscus flowers in a (1-quart) jar or medium pitcher. Add the water and SF Lemonade, stir to combine, and chill until bright red, at least 20 minutes. For a deeper color and flavor, chill overnight.
  • Pour the tea through a fine mesh strainer set over a bowl or pitcher to remove the hibiscus flowers.
  • Sweeten with sugar alternative to taste

Lady Grey London Fog

1 serving

Ingredients

  • 1 tea bag Lady Grey tea*
    *(decaffeinated if post-op)
  • 1/2 cup (100mL) water
  • 1/2 cup (100mL) non-fat milk or plant milk alternative
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup

Directions

  • Infuse the Lady Grey tea bag in 100 ml of freshly boiled water for 2 – 3 minutes.
  • Discard the tea bag.
  • Steam milk by warming in microwave or sauce pan over low heat. Froth using a whisk or milk frother.
  • Fill one third of the latte glass with the Lady Grey tea.
  • Add 1 Tbsp SF vanilla syrup.
  • Top with milk and serve immediately.

Rich Ramen Broth

~8 servings (12 fl oz)

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp ginger root
  • 4-6 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch green onion (scallions)
  • 8 oz shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup Low sodium soy sauce
  • Chicken bones and carcass

Directions

  • Prepare the vegetables. Peel garlic cloves. Slice ginger root into thin slices. Rough chop green onion and remove the root. Wash and slice mushrooms.
  • Place prepared chicken and vegetables in a large pot with just enough water to cover the chicken. Bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low when it boils and remove the scum. Simmer gently for 3 hours. Skim the scum off occasionally.
  • Use a mesh strainer to remove chicken carcass and vegetables; drain liquid broth. Add low sodium soy sauce.
