Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.
My weight stopped me from being me. I was always active and never let anything stop me. I got married in June 2013 and we wanted to start a family. I know I want to be there always for my kids so I was always working out to be healthy but then I broke my ankle and started to gain weight. I was at my highest ever of 346 and felt the weight bearing down on my knees, ankles and whole body. I didn’t think I will last and especially at work. Being on my feet at least 16 hrs a a day was getting unbearable
How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in?
I started to think about surgery when my wife had hers. Then I was told other officers at work have had it and said it was the best choice for them and their kids. People didn’t know my weight and didn’t feel like I weighed that much due to always being active so that’s when I decided to go all in and work for this life changing surgery
What was it like to work with our team?
The team at del mar surgical was amazing. They worked with me step by step from start to finish. Dr Broyal and his staff is amazing. I always recommend them to other friends who think about getting the surgery done. Now that’s it’s been almost two years, their team still calls me to check on me and see how I’m doing.
Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery.
Life after surgery has been amazing. I was always athletic but now I’m 10 times more able to do things I was never able to do before since high school. My goal is always to get fit and this has helped me. Running with no pain is probably the best thing that has happened. Also being there and knowing I’m gonna last longer in life for my family and kids. Like Dr Broyal said, this is a tool and only a tool, I have to do the rest of the work to make it work. He gave me his 100% and I know I’ve been giving back to him
