Their Story

Describe your life before you had Weight Loss Surgery.

Before I had surgery I was miserable in my own body. I felt sluggish, tired all the time, I was always out of breath, I had pain on my ankles from my weight. Sleep apnea, and acid reflux. Not being able to exercise because I was exhausted from work, coming home I would go straight to be because I had really bad ankle pain. Sometimes I would try and go for a walk, but even then I would be in pain from my ankles and just out of breath that I had barely enough energy to do anything with my son. My days off consisted of me laying in bed because I was just tired all the time.

How long were you considering Weight Loss Surgery before you came in?

I saw a few co workers of mine who had the surgery and it never crossed my mind into getting surgery. After doing some research I told myself, “This is it!” I have to do something for myself. After 3-4 months of thinking about it, I reached out to my Primary Doctor and mention to him that I wanted to have weight loss surgery. He supported me all the way and referred me to Del Mar Surgical.

What was it like to work with our team?

Everyone in Del Mar Surgical have been so supportive and amazing. A HUGE thanks to Doctor Pascal Bortz and Ms. Rachel Macam, they are both really supportive and actually care for what I have to say. They are both always attentive and address any concerns that I have.

Describe your life now, after Weight Loss Surgery.

WOW where do I start?
I am able to do exercise without getting tired, I can walk for longer periods, I can actually RUN! I am able to fit into a size M/L clothes. I am able to do things more at ease. In general I have a ton of energy, I sleep better. I am no longer out of breath. I don’t experience ankle pain since the weight is off. I feel absolutely amazing!
