
Meet Dr. Matt Cooper
Dr. Cooper is a board-certified General Surgeon with advanced training in minimally invasive, bariatric, endoscopic, and robotic surgery. He graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University and then attended medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine where he earned recognition for his commitment for the care of the medically under-served population. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Hawaii where he served as a chief resident during his final year. As a resident he received many awards and recognition for his outstanding skills including Laparoscopic Surgery Resident of the Year. Finally, Dr. Cooper completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Stanford University.
As an expert in the treatment of the digestive tract, Dr. Cooper has authored several articles and textbook chapters on the evaluation and treatment of these disorders. His research has been presented at local and national meetings across the country. Before joining Del Mar Surgical, Dr. Cooper worked in private practice in Arizona.
By utilizing advanced minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques, Dr. Cooper strives to provide compassionate and expert care to all of his patients.
Outside of work Dr. Cooper enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and 3 children.
