My name is Patti and until 5 1/2 years ago I was super morbidly obese. Before I had my lap band surgery, I weighed close to 300 lbs. I had both my knees replaced before I was 52 years old and my hip replaced. I could not walk more that about 100 ft at a time. No energy, high blood pressure, trouble with my feet, back, and neck. I had to take cholesterol reducing medication and blood pressure medication as well. I am no longer taking blood pressure medication and only take the cholesterol medication twice a week. I feel so much better. Who would have thought 5 1/2 years ago that I would ever have the energy and stamina to go salmon fishing out on the ocean. My cousin, Nancy, was coming to visit me and wanted to go salmon fishing on the ocean. (it was on her bucket list) go figure. I was extremely nervous and didn't know if I would able to do it. Well, we arrived at the boat at 5:45 am. The charter boat furnished everything that we needed. Well, as you can see by the picture, we both caught salmon (mine was the biggest). It was the first time I had ever fished. It was wonderful and look forward to doing it again next summer. I would never have been able to do any of the things I do now if it were not for Dr. Bhoyrul and his wonderful staff. They are extremely supportive of all of us that have had our surgeries and treat you like a member of their family. I cannot say enough about them all and will forever be one of their biggest fans; because of them I have a great life, I'm happy, and can do so many things that I would never have been able to do if I had not had the lap band surgery. For the longest time, I felt like an athletic person trapped in the body of some “overweight stranger of a person”; someone so foreign to me that I had no semblance of an identity. I tried several diets, gym memberships, and “formulas”, but nothing worked. After consulting with doctors and researching the gastric bypass procedure, I realized it was my only option to reclaiming my health, and to be reborn as the active person I truly am. Dr. Bhoyrul is amazing. He is considerate, has a caring bedside manner, and is by far the best in his field (I did much research before selecting him). I recommend Dr. Bhoyrul to anyone interested in weight loss surgery; and this is a recommendation coming fromm someone who did thorough research. I have lost roughly between 80 to 90 pounds in about 7 months. I had no complications and no problems. I was expecting to be in much pain after the surgery, but even the recovery was easy for me, and painless. I only have 20 more pounds to lose, and already my life has turned around. I can run 3 miles now, and I am active in team sports. I first took notice of my improved state when I was scuba diving off San Diego, and a fellow diver cramped up while we were swimming against a current. I had to tow him in to land while fighting the current and swelling kelp beds all around us. The “old me” would have been of no help. It felt very rewarding to know that my improved health has made me a competent diver, but also someone who is fit enough to assist others in my sport. I am in the middle of signing a contract with the military, and when I get out I will join the police force. None of this would have happened for me if not for Dr. Bhoyrul (and my own drive and self discipline too, of course).

I went in weighing close to 260 pounds. I was a severe insulyn dependant diabetic along with many other serious health issues. I knew i would not live another 10 years if i did not take the weight off. So i attended a seminar where Dr Boyrul was. I knew this surgery was for me! I did it and lost 50 % of my weight the first year! Dr Boyrul was and is the kindest man - doctor I have ever been involved with medically! He is my hero today & forever! He saved my life & i will always be grateful & thankful to him!I love you Dr Bhoyrul
